Thursday, 2 February 2012

Paris Couture week has come and gone but not without its many controversies, drama and eccentricities. From the very best, to the outrageous... from the gown that needed two men to lift, to Jean Paul Gaultier's homage to Amy Winehouse. Paris Couture week had its fill... highlights below...

Former supermodel Yasmin Le Bon, wore a 50kgs (100 pounds) red dress by Stephane Rolland, and needed two assistants to help lift the gown down the catwalk.

Also another veteran model who took to the catwalk was, Jerry Hall walking for Swiss designer Jean-Luc Amsler.

Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, took guests away from earth as they took their seats aboard a makeshift space shuttle inside the Grand Palais.

Jean Paul Gaultier paid tribute to Amy Winehouse, by using her as the muse for his latest collection to mark the six-month anniversary of her death. *According to Grazia magazine, Amy Winehouse’s father has called it
offensive. He tweeted his dissaproval, saying ''it’s in bad taste."

These pieces are surely beautiful and interesting. I would like to know what happens to that 50kgs gown after the fashion show though
