Brymo Show....

Wednesday, 9 February 2011

Ok so last friday was so much fun for me...I watched Brymo perform!! Yeay! For those who do not know Brymo, here is a little bio..

Brymo is an upcoming Nigerian artiste who recently got signed to the Chocolate City record label to join M.I, Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince. Brymo released his first single 'Shawty' in 2008 and has been featured on several hot tracks including 'Oleku' by Ice Prince, 'L.O.V.E You' by  Jesse Jagz', 'Action Film' by M.I, and 'Ma Wo Be' by Sasha.

The show was amazing. You know when you go to a concert or a show and an artiste performs and proves to the crowd  that alot of editing was done on the track....in other words the artiste's voice is not that great. Well Brymo proved that he actually is talented. His voice was amazing and clear and he plays the guitar..A highlight of the show was when he sang 'L.O.V.E You' to a girl in the crowd (one of Linda's fav songs-sure she's Jealous lol) with so much sincerity and passion. The girl couldn't stop smiling. Me being a very huge Brymo fan sang along (word for word) to every song he performed. He ended the show with hit song 'Oleku' (tell me something wey I no fit do....)

If Brymo happens to be performing anywhere close to you, I suggest you go and watch. I promise you won't be disappointed. Below are some pictures of Brymo.. You can play 'Oleku' below..(video is not out yet..)

We like... Mad Men Style...

Monday, 7 February 2011

Mad Men is an American show set in the 60's, we especially like their style. From the styling on set, to the clothes and... just the general feel of the 60's era, of course without all of the other stuff that we won't just get into right now... (admittedly portrays the 60's in America well and realistically). The last season reflected the mod mood of 1965 with shift dresses, sharp suits and neon colours...

Saturday, 22 January 2011

Keziah Jones

Keziah Jones (born Olufemi Sanyaolu on January 10, 1968 in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and guitarist.

He describes his musical style as "Blufunk", which is a fusion between raw blues elements and hard, edgy funk rhythms.
Also his Nigerian roots in Yoruba music and soul music can be considered a major influence on his sound.
He is known for his distinctive style of guitar playing, including his percussive right-hand technique which is similar to a bass guitarist's slapping technique.
Keziah often cites Fela Kuti and Jimi Hendrix along with Micheal Jackson as important influences.
Keziah Jones also paints and writes poetry. He’s a talented photographer and he produces short films.

We Like: Vivienne Westwood

Thursday, 20 January 2011

So we decided to randomly post something about designers we like... sort of an inspirational blog post of  designers that are doing something different, that inspire us... and basically style we like. This week we are going to feature Vivienne Westwood for her unconventional style, political views/environmental responsibility and business acumen.

Dame Vivienne Westwood, (born Vivienne Isabel Swire on 8 April 1941) is a British fashion designer and businesswoman, largely responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream.

She studied at the Harrow School of Art, taking fashion and silversmithing, but left after one term. After taking up a job in a factory and studying at a teacher-training college, Vivienne became a primary school teacher.
During this period, she also created her own jewellery, which she sold at a stall on Portobello Road.

Westwood and former husband McLaren worked together to revolutionise fashion and their impact is still strongly felt today. Westwood has five exclusively-owned shops; three in London, one in Leeds, and one in Milan, others are franchises.

Westwood is also widely known as a political activist but mostly we just like her clothes.Westwood's designs were featured in the 2008 film adaptation of the award winning television series Sex and the City.
