I was pleased to discover the UK now shows reruns of Daria on MTV! I loved Daria's smartish ways, quips and sarcasm on different views but especially found her jaded sister-Quinn more interesting- how could anyone be so fabulously dumb? Although it turned that she was not so stupid after all in the later seasons (apparently she was disguising it under all the hair and make-up).
Talking about dumb, were also Dumb and Dumber Brittany -a cheerleader, and her popular football player boyfriend- Kevin. They were hilariously stupid. Also lets not forget the fashion club where Quinn was the vice president.
Then there was Jane. Daria's artistic best friend, and Trent Jane's older brother-an aspiring musician (Daria had a crush on him) and Jodie Landon an overachiever friend of Daria-they clashed sometimes over their individual views. And lastly how can I forget the bug eyed funny teacher Mr DeMartino (I always looked away whenever they showed his face).
While some might have argued that Daria represented the white upper class teenage female who complained a lot, and was whiny about nothing in particular (esp since she was from a privileged background) I found the show generally funny and entertaining.
